Why do I even bother with those people anymore? - A shitpost about "friends"
I really don't know why I keep going to places where I meet people from my high school. I absolutely hate going to places where I see people from high school. The worse part of it is that I'm being dragged along to these places because of my sister. Since me and my sister are twins, the people from our high school either know me, or her, or both of us. These guys are always like "Where's your brother?" "why doesn't your brother come and hang with us?" to my sister and then she comes home and drag me wherever they are and she gives me the excuse that it looks bad on her that she doesn't take me out anywhere. C'mon, if I wanted to go out somewhere, I'll go with people that I actually like. The worst part of it all is that I have to sit through it all until 1 or 2 in the morning while doing nothing because people act like I'm not even in the room, and then they have the nerve to ask those same questions again to my sister. Sure I don't go out much, but that's no reason to drag me out to meet people I have no desire to see.

Con Aftermath
So Anime North is done and surprisingly, i didn't really enjoy myself. At least, I didn't enjoy myself as much as I did compared to the previous times I went there. The panels were ok, but the one that I was pissed off about the most was the Tales of series panel. I thought it was going to be a panel for people who would want to discuss the games intelligently, but all I got were people bitching and moaning about Namco Bandai not localizing anything and how much people have such a hard-on for vesperia. The upsides to the con was that I was able to get some shit really cheap. I found Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne for 10 dollars new. Still shrink wrapped and everything. Same with Zone of Enders 2 for 30 bucks new. Some people had really really good cosplays going and thanks to one of my friends working at swiss chalet, we got a discount for 30% off. Not too bad for the 3 days I guess

the con
So today I went to my workplace to book off next weekend because I'm going to Anime North. For the America bros that read my blog, anime north is as you suspect it to be. A con. Now before you rush me with hate comments about how terrible a person I am for going to this con, here me out. I first went to this con when I was in grade 10? I guess so that was a good 6 years ago and on top of that, I didn't go alone. I went with a couple of bros. Every year I went with the same bros and we had a blast. Just recently we started to go all 3 days so it isn't really that bad if you find people to go with and stay away from the crazy "glompers" and other freaks that attend it. Usually our day consists of walking around the dealer's room for a couple of hours buying the things that you wouldn't be able to buy online without paying a premium and just being pretty laid back. We also like to go into the panels and watch the anime that are deemed by anime north as "the latest anime" and "straight from japan" even though the shows they show are from a good couple of seasons ago. We always have a good laugh from those. Then we go back to the dealer's room for more stuff and then end our evening with going to Swiss Chalet. If you are close to a con in your area, give it a try. I hope that you'll have a good time. As long as you go with people and stay away from the people that clearly say that they're crazy.

The god of thunder
So yesterday, a couple of my high school friends decided to drag me out of my dwellings to go see a movie. That movie was Thor. Since it was a Tuesday, we got the tickets for about 12 bucks which wasn't all that bad. We went to go see the movie in an AVX theater in 3D, and what was really awesome about the AVX theater was that the seats were leather and they reclined. Holy shit, they were so comfy! Movie theaters should just replace all of their seats with those because that was the most comfortable I've ever been in a movie. As for the movie itself, it's been a while since I went to the movie theaters so It was good. I give the movie a 8/10 but the thing that I was disappointed with was the 3D. It could've been alot better. Personally, if the movie wasn't half off yesterday, I wouldn't have gone. It was a good movie, but not worth the full price.

Pain, Pain everywhere
I knew it was going to happen someday, but I didn't expect it to happen to me so quickly. All I gotta say is that wisdom teeth sucks. I've been awake for three days straight thanks to this stupid thing growing in. The tooth is throbbing, my gums are swollen and I feel like shit. The worse part is that I can't get it removed because my school health insurance is finished and my family isn't that kind enough to pay the full cost of it. I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow not being able to talk.

Tales of Graces
GODDAMN SOPHIE IS HNNGGGG |
I've been meaning to do this post for a while now, but I never really got around to it. Things like topics that I would find more interesting for you guys to read, or me just forgetting about it. So now that I remembered, I want to tell you guys about my experience playing my first Japanese game untranslated.
You see the whole reason that I modded my wii was to play this game. The tales series is probably one of my favorite JRPG series right now and when I heard that the new game was going to be on the wii, it convinced me to mod it. Well that was part of the reason to mod it. The other parts for me modding my wii was that the game looked so awesome, I had a horrible feeling that Namco would never localize it, and I had no money to import it at the time. So began my journey through playing this game.
I used the menu patch that I got from the official tales forum and began playing. At that time I had no knowledge of katakana, hiragana, or kanji. Just the knowledge I had from watching tons and tons of anime. I was able to get through how to battle and the title system just fine. It really helped that I played tales before so I knew the common items and their effects just by looking at the picture like life bottle, apple gel, etc. The only time that I used the spoiler-free walkthrough was when I needed help on where to go next, or if I got stuck in some stupid puzzle, but besides that, I used no help whatsoever and it was very satisfying! Thanks to my years of watching anime, I was able to comprehend (most) of the story, and from what I got out of it, It was average at best. But the game really shines not from it's story, but from it's characters as all of the tales series does. Asbel is suzaku 2.0 + I WANT TO PROTECT EVERYTHING. Hubert is Asbel's tsundere brother towards the party, Cheria is your average female herione + nagging mom, Sophie is HNNGGGGG (I'm sorry, dat Kana Hanazawa was too much for me) Malik was the fucking awesome mentor role who can joke around once in a while, and Pascal was the lovable joker with the equally as awesome Kana Ueda for her VA.
I managed to complete the game with no major problems and clocked around 85 hours for my first playthrough. For my next playthrough, I plan on mastering all of the titles, defeat rock gagan the hard way, do all the sidequests and conquer the extra dungeon.
Tales of Graces is a really enjoyable game and is a good edition to the tales series. I would happily visit again once I finish learning hiragana and the japanese core 2000 series. Till then, I will patiently wait till Graces F comes out for the PS3. If you have the time, pick it up.

Backlog-a-thon
Hey guys sorry I wasn't able to post for a while, but it's mainly because of things like school and exams and whatnot. But now that it's over and done with, I'm a free man and I've been thinking of how to spend my vacation. The thing that came to mind was to finish all the games that I've put down and forgotten. It's not like I'm one of those people who buys a new game and forget the old one even existed it's just that there's so many good games and so little time. So basically I'm going to start from the old consoles and work my way up to the new ones. I'll give you an example of how much shit I have to finish.
For the ps2: Kingdom Hearts 1, Star Ocean 3, Devil may cry 3, metal gear solid 3, prince of Persia two thrones, Persona 4, Radiata Stories, Odin Sphere. (1 more character's story)
Gamecube: Metal gear solid twin snakes, Prince of persia: warrior within.
Wii: Sonic colors, FF: Crystal Bearers, No more heroes 2, Super mario galaxy, Muramasa (Momohime's story)
The last story.
PS3: Resonance of fate, FF 13, Assassins creed 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Infamous.
360: Tales of vesperia(at last area) Mass Effect.
and this isn't even counting the games on my handhelds. I hope to finish at least a quarter before the summer but I think I'm off to a good start. Just yesterday I finished Bioshock.

E3 2010
Hey guys, It's been a while since I posted mainly because I really didn't have anything interesting to post about. So I thought about it and I came up to the conclusion of posting my trip to E3 2010. Of course there would be pics.
I got the chance to go to E3 mainly thanks to the make a wish foundation. Since I'm a dying kid and all that jazz, they came to me and ask me what wish should I make. My first thought and wish was to go to japan, but seeing that my entire family is black, I thought that would be way too much trouble. So I wished for the next best thing that I wanted to do, which was to go to E3 in L.A. and damn, they made my trip in style from the moment I left my house.
Warning, you will see a pic or two of me, or my brother. Try to guess which is which.
The reason why this pic is so dark is because we had to leave around 4am in the morning if we wanted to get to L.A. in the afternoon. Remember, I was traveling from Canada and it was my 2nd time going to the U.S. They greeted us in style by sending me a limo to pick me up instead of us driving to the airport.
Inside the limo was really nice. Aircon, liquor for the folks, and some LEDs on the ceiling of the car that lit up and made pretty little patterns when the car was in motion.
L.A. is a really beautiful place. The only problem I that have with it is that people there really like to drive recklessly. On our way to the convention center we almost crashed twice due to 2 different people trying to cut us off.
This was outside of the convention center. This was a fuckhuge poster of homefront and there were other ones advertising games like assassin's creed, PS move etc. By the way, when I was inside the convention center, there were 2 different armies inside the halls, opposite of each other. One was the US army, the other was the United Korean army. They were advertising homefront. It was pretty cool to see both of the uniforms in person.
Holy shit I was so tense when I took this picture. As you probably would've guess, this is day 1 of E3 and it just opened up to us. Everyone and their grandma was rushing the stairs and escalators to get in and try the things before anyone else. I took this picture from the escalator.
There was a real guy in that killzone suit. He must've been roasted alive because it was hot as hell in the showfloor.
Up where that projector is was the place where you were able to try the 3ds. Me and my brother didn't go in because the wait time to get in was 2 hours and he said "Fuck that shit" and left.
And now, I present to you, my spoils of war. These things that I got would probably never go on sale and when I die, I'll ask for these to be put in my casket.
Next up are the T-shirts.
The legend of zelda shirt I got as a reward when I went to the nintendo booth and tried out skyward sword. They gave it to me when I completed the demo.
The "guess who's back" was actually a sega dreamcast shirt, and the one with the animal is from phantasy star 0 for the DS.
I even got a blue chainchomp from nintendo. His name is chompers. He has the task of guarding my room all day.
The brown Shirt is from resonance of fate for the ps3. In my opinion, it's probably one of the best rpgs that came out this gen. Get it. I got the mortal combat shirt from waiting in line for 30 min to go inside a mortal combat castle where they gave us a closed theater of the game. It was cool and I got to talk to the developers making it.
The rockband shirt I got was being given out when I went to their booth. They were pretty cool guys and I had a try at rockband 3. It was terrible since I sucked at the guitar.
And that's it. It was a really crazy enjoyable trip from start to finish. The only issue I had was that make a wish only gave authorization to go to the showfloor so I wasn't able to attend the conferences. but they easily made up for it by sending me a huge package 2 months later which contained a xbox 360 elite and a bunch of games for it, ps3 and wii. I would never trade this experience I had for the world.

The buttons name that's a little hard to read says Arc rise Fantasia. Got it from the ignition entertainment booth |

The e3 one is actually a hoodie and comfortable as fuck. |

Solanin
Today is going to be a different blog post than what I usually do. It's a post that makes the title of my blog relevant. Today I'm going to give you a manga recommendation. Some of you might have read it, some of you might not, but I feel that this manga is a really good one. It's also one of my favorites.
The title of the manga is the same as the title of my post. Solanin. It's basically a manga that some people could relate to on a personal level. Deals with things like motivation and questions such as what do I want to do with my life, is there anything I can do with my life? It captures a pivotal moment in people lives. The early twenties. Asano Inio does a great job telling a story about doing shit we may or may not give to fucks about and about life in general. If you pick this manga up, I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

School Demotivation with a side of Oyakodon
Sorry guys, I haven't been able to post in a while because of the shit that's happening to me lately, but now I'll get on to the main topic. Sorry if I sound like I'm bitching, but if you would hear me out, it would be appreciated. You guys probably remember me saying how I'm forced to stay a year back in school because I was literally dying right? Because of this I find school incredibly boring. Like I have no motivation to attend. By the time I'm in my 2nd year, my friends will be in their final. It fucking sucks learning the same shit you've already done only to be alone when you go in next year. Now, I'm not a social person but these guys are probably the best bros I could ever hope for. It reeeally fucking sucks that I won't be able to be with them in their final year of college. So I'm thinking of transferring to a different school next year. I won't be able to see them anymore, but what's the difference when I don't see them at all right now? Of course I'll still keep contact with them for the rest of my life but it's a huge downer.
Anyways, now that I've got that out of the way, last night, I finally got off my ass and made dinner for myself! and when I mean for me, I meant my sister ate fucking half of it. It was Oyakodon as the part of the title of my post said. It was my first time cooking Japanese food and I'm damn proud of myself for doing it. It was fucking delicious. I would've taken a pic of it, but we finished it before I had the chance to. My sister said it was pretty good and she's a really picky eater. I'm sad that my little brother wouldn't eat it though. But I can understand that he's a true black person at heart and would have nothing to do with eating foreign things other than jerk chicken.

The little electronic soldier
Sometime this afternoon, you died. Completely died with no warning. Samsung P2, you were the best mp3 player I ever had. Even though you had your backside fucked up beyond belief from being the store copy, you shrugged it off. I dropped you more times than I can count. Heck, I dropped you practically all the time! You were like, that's OK bro. These things happen sometimes. Then one day, one of your audio channels decided to explode and I couldn't hear music out of one ear. I sent you in for repair and you came back working as good as ever. Little did I know that was the beginning of the end.
A couple of months later, one of your audio channels got shot again. But you still kept on trucking. I even dropped you in hot soapy water days later, but you kept on going like a beast even though you wouldn't start up again for 2 days. Your screen display got fucked up and started to display weird colors when I dropped you at work. But you said, "That's OK bro, I can still keep going." and then a week later, your color scheme returned to normal. Just 2 days ago, your audio completely died, but you said, "Even though I can't play music anymore, I'm still here for you. Plus you can still read your light novels using my text reader!" and now, your gone. During these 4 years, you provided me with countless hours of fun, quality sound for my weaboo music and a bitchin text reader. I'll fucking miss you P3 and I assure you, you should expect nothing less than a viking funeral for your deeds. R.I.P. ;_;

small things can really come back and bite you in the ass
If you really don't want to read the medium wall of text coming up, there will be a TL;DR at the bottom.
On Monday, I had a feeling Tuesday was going to be a terrible day. Turns out that I was right. So very right. In the morning I took the same bus with my mother. She was going to work, I was going to school for a midterm. When we were on the bus, she managed to lose her transfer paper to get on her next bus. So after me and her looked for it for a while, we couldn't find it. So she nagged me to hell and back to get a new one for her from the bus driver. After the driver finished bitching at me about how she lost her transfer so fast he gave me a new one. Fine. Whatever.
My mom got off first and I was finally by myself. I got off that bus a little later and went on another bus. The bus that I got on doesn't check if you have a proof of payment but instead they have transit police come on once in a while to check if you do. If you don't have a transfer or validated bus ticket, they write you up and charge you for going on the bus without paying. So I went on the bus thinking I had my transfer since I never go without one, and lo and behold., the transit police came on the bus. They asked me for my proof of payment and I couldn't find it. It turned out that I lost my transfer while helping to look for my mom's. So I got taken off of the bus and charged for not paying. The ticket they wrote me up was for me to pay 200 bucks. 200 fucking dollars for not having a small piece of shitty paper with you. So now when I went home, my mom came up to me and said that she found her first transfer in her fucking bag. Now I'm going to have to go to court and argue that I did have a proof of payment using that transfer that she found. Not to mention I have to do it within the next 15 days.
TL;DR: My mom was an idiot, made me lose my transfer, and got me ticketed for 200 bucks and I'm going to have to go to court to get this shit appealed, and my Midterm was shit hard.

valkyria chronicles
So just yesterday when I was bored as fuck with nothing to do, I decided to go to gamestop. Since one of the guys I know since high school works there, I asked him what game he would recommend me. The guy's pretty normal and I was surprised he gave me Valkyria Chronicles instead of something like marvel vs capcom 3 or whatever big game that's out right now. So I came home and played it for a bit. Holy shit this game is fucking awesome. I haven't played a srpg since the first fire emblem for the gba. I forsee this game taking up quite a bit of my time in the future and that's pretty good. I'm only in the first couple of chapters right now and I can't wait till Selvaria shows up. Shit's gonna be so cash.
On another note, I just finished Kingdom hearts BBS last night. Aqua is the best heroine of all years. She's probably the only one that's not pants on head retarded in this game and Ghost Drive is a broken as fuck command style.

Fucking apathy, how does it work?
I am extremely apathetic in real life. I just don't care or feel indifferent to a lot of things. According to my twin sis. I'm socially awkward and really, I'm fine with that. You see, after I hit 17 or so my life started to become fucked up more than it already was. Since I was a little kid, I've been diagnosed with a disease called Sickle Cell Anemia. A blood disorder. Look it up if you seem interested in it. It's fucked over my life in the ass so many times I've lost count. Even when it comes to things like education, I find myself thinking, does it really matter? After schooling is done I'm just going to be spending my life spending money to make money and killing myself over it. Now I realize that people can have and have it way worse than me but still, I feel like it just doesn't matter anymore. If only I won the lottery or something like that, I could just buy myself a small house with a crazy ass internet connection in the middle of nowhere so I don't have to fucking deal with people anymore.

My thoughts about the current anime airing season
Hey guys, I really can't remember the last time I really talked about anime. So today, I'm just writing down my thoughts about what I think about this season of shows as well as past ones. Be warned, this might be a bit long.
Currently I'm watching the following
Freezing: It's not bad. I've been following the mahnwa for some time and I was excited that this was getting an adaption. Besides cutting some things out like pandora mode being changed into the girls glowing, it's faithful to it so far. I'll stick around for it.
Heartcatch Precure: My guiltiest pleasure. This is a no one must no my secret kind of a thing. Really enjoyable, almost done. I'm just sad that there probably won't ever be a future precure as high quality as this one. Right up there with the original Futari wa.
Infinite Stratos: Standard harem fare with mechas thrown in . Could become interesting if they follow the novels closely. I'll also stick around for this.
Mahou shoujo Madoka: Really liking the umakoshi designs with shaft. I was really looking forward to episode 3 until I got spoilered by a *certain* imageboard. Still going to watch regardless
Robot Taisen OG: Fuckawesome even though I have no idea what's going on. I probably should've watched divine wars or played the gba games before watching this.
Level E: Jesus christ what a troll. Pretty funny so I'm sticking with it.
Fractale: Will watch tonight
Gosick: Ditto with this series.
Star Driver: For some reason, I fucking love this show. I'm really not sure why though, I know the episode format is repetitive but it still never fails to please me. I await anxiously for each episode.
That's it folks. As you can see, I pretty easy to please. Usually I'm about an episode or two behind but now it's gotten worse because Birth by Sleep and Persona 3 Portable are sucking my viewing time. Speaking of which, time to start on Fractale and Gosick.
To adventure! |

Games, games and fig dissapointment
Recently, I've been playing a lot more games than I should be. It's really weird cause usually I would have a gaming session like once every other week for a day and just play the shit outta things, but recently, I've been playing games practically everyday. I need to stop that shit cause schools back and I have classes. Also, I got a new psp. My first one died during the summer for some odd reason. The power button was loose as hell and it won't even start up when I plugged it into the computer. Anyways, back to gaming. Between playing Black ops with my bros, persona 3 portable (FES was amazing, looking forward to playing the girl's route and whoring myself out to every guy in the game) birth by sleep, and now Valkyria chronicles (Just arrived in the mail today) I don't know how I can go to college with all these games piling up on me.
On another note, I couldn't believe it. The ikaros nendoroid like figma was restocked and sold out just like that. I really wanted that one. It was going to be my first nendoroid ;_;
